Lawbreakers Player Count
Boss Key Games’ shooter is now free-to-play on Steam (as spotted by ), but the game is set to be shut down in September. The gravity-based combat game was previously priced at $29.99. Last month, Boss Games’ head closed the development studio, of the game.A note from “The LawBreakers Team” on Steam today, explained the situation: “In light of the unfortunate news regarding Boss Key Productions shutting down, we regret to announce that we will be sunsetting our support of LawBreakers on September 14, 2018 as we are not able to operate the game. Our servers will remain open until then and the game will be made free-to-play on Steam for all players effective immediately.
Jun 27, 2017 LawBreakers has the same problem that every other arena has right now: Overwatch exists. LawBreakers is constantly compared to Overwatch or called Overwatch without waifus. Aug 30, 2017 LawBreakers Concurrent Player Count Is Low On Steam. Earlier this month, Boss Key Productions launched LawBreakers, a brand new multiplayer FPS inspired by classic games like Unreal Tournament. Reception to the game has been broadly positive, but just a few weeks after it made its debut, its player count on Steam is worryingly low.
Please note that any and all new in-game purchases will also be disabled and we will not be able to accept any refund requests.”In LawBreakers, players take on the roles of specialized fighters who inhabit low gravity arenas. Competing against Blizzard’s, the game failed to attract a sustainable audience.
Although it lacks the charm and polish of Overwatch, it is a tightly designed shooting game with well balanced units. The game was first announced as a free-to-play, but publisher Nexon. “We did a lot of discussions and even more research. There are some core free-to-play games that do well, but for us, we didn’t want to go down the well of players buying ‘energy’ or other sleazy things,” Bleszinski said two years ago. “A lot of core gamers have a negative reaction when they hear free-to-play because they think they’ll get ripped off.”When he stepped away from the game last month, Bleszinski said: “Four years ago I set out to make a world class video game studio and I hired some of the best talent in the videogame industry. They worked tirelessly to produce quality products and, while we had our ups and downs, I’d like to think we had fun doing it.
LawBreakers was a great game that unfortunately failed to gain traction.”Here’s the.
Cliff Bleszinski’s LawBreakers was one of the most anticipated games of 2017, and it received mostly positive reviews from critics and fans, but what was not expected was the low-player counts i.e. not enough players playing it (1500 or something concurrents, the last time we checked). What exactly went wrong? Cliff Bleszinski in a recent interview with Eurogamer answered this query and also explained what exactly is the future plan of the development team.
When asked about the low-player counts of LawBreakers and did development team expected it? Cliff replied that LawBreakers is in the market for a long run (Marathon) and not for a sprint, and he is very much happy to take the underhyped game tag, slowly and steadily continue working on the game and make it something big that players adore.
“It’s like I said, it’s a marathon, not a sprint. I’d rather be the underhyped game that slowly ramps up into something that people adore than something that comes out with way too much hype that there’s a backlash for, which is why I think the Steam reviews are so positive.”
The Forbes World’s Billionaires list is a snapshot of wealth using stock prices and exchange rates from February 8, 2019. Some people become richer or poorer within days of publication.
He further went on to explain the development team planning for the future: “We’re going to continue to raise awareness, continue to support the product – if you look at the phenomenon that was League of Legends, it built off a Warcraft 3 mod then slowly but surely blossomed into this immense amazing thing, and I’d rather be the game that comes up and has that hockey stick ramp with a slow burn and builds up rather than the triple-A hype machine where you have a bazillion people playing it month one and it goes down exponentially then they follow up with an annual product.”
Cliff further talked about new contents for LawBreakers that are currently in development. He stated that currently there are 9 playable characters, and at the studio, the development team is already testing 10th character, in fact, it is already fully playable. Also, Cliff revealed that two new maps are also “99 percent ready to go”, and a new game-types is also in work, but he can’t talk about it right now.
“We’re having a solid opening but we’re reminding people that we shipped with nine characters, in the play test lab we’re playing with role ten, it’s fully playable. I’ve played two maps that are 99 per cent ready to go, maybe new game types that I can’t really talk about.”
Cliff didn’t stop there, he further went on to talk about LawBreakers Reviews on Steam. He described Steam as a “Very Harsh Platform” and LawBreakers still managed to get “very positive” ratings, 90 percent positive.
“What we’ve found is that Steam is a very harsh platform, and if you go to Steam reviews for any game, you can’t bullsh** Steam users, PC users,” Bleszinski said. “I’m not saying you can bullshit console users, but Steam users are some of the most savvy gamers out there. If you go to our reviews they’re 90 percent positive. We’ve created a community over the last three years of really loyal and dedicated fans who love the game and the studio.”
In short, Cliff Bleszinski message is clear: LawBreakers is here to stay, the development team is going to support it for many months to come.
The game is currently out on PC and PlayStation 4, and Cliff has hinted that a release of Lawbreakers on Xbox One might happen soon.
