The Bladesmen are mainly a counter to high-health cards. The issue with the Pathfinder is that they are just good overall; they don't necessarily counter but they also didn't have any good counters. You didn't put them in a deck because you wanted to counter something, but because it is a deck.
I mean, I am all for the Empire getting more choices as an alternative to Bladesmen to reduce their frequency, but right now it is their only good tool against Bantha/Tank/GNK and in some cases Chewie and K2.
